A collision at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Main Street on Jan. 7 sent one man to hospital with minor injuries.

“A 1998 Chevy GMT-400 pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Veterans Boulevard, travelling through the intersection at Main Street when a second vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander (minivan), travelling westbound on Veterans and attempted to turn south on Main Street,” Hennelly said. “The pickup truck struck the Uplander in the backend and it careened into a pole.”

The Uplander ended up striking a traffic signal light on the east side of northbound Main Street.

The driver of the pickup, a 43-year-old man from Airdrie, was taken to the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary with minor injuries, according to EMS Spokesman Adam Loria.

His male passenger, as well as the driver and lone occupant of the minivan, a 48-year-old woman from Carstairs, were not injured.

Road conditions may have been a contributing factor to the collision. Drugs, alcohol and speed are not considered factors, according to Hennelly.

“No charges will be laid in this incident,” she said.

Medication stolen

RCMP is investigating a theft at the Airdrie London Drugs store on Dec. 10, 2015.

“Two suspects entered the London Drugs here in Airdrie and stole over-the-counter medication from the pharmacy area,” Hennelly said. “Several days later the employees there noticed a large amount of inventory missing and it was at that time they called police to report the loss.”

RCMP was provided with video surveillance footage.

The male suspect is believed to be in his mid-20s, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall with dark hair. He was wearing a red baseball cap, black-rimmed glasses, a black winter coat with a fur-trimmed hood and jeans.

Hennelly said the female suspect is believed to be in her early to mid-20s and has a small build, dark skin and hair and was wearing a black knee-length jacket with white buttons. She was also carrying a large black purse.

RCMP is not releasing the types of medication stolen, however, Hennelly said it had a value of approximately $500.

Snowblower stolen

RCMP is hoping the public can help identify the person responsible for the theft of a snowblower on Dec. 10, 2015 from United Floors on Kingsview Boulevard, Hennelly said.

The lone male suspect can be seen on video surveillance footage breaking into an outbuilding at the business and removing a snowblower. He then loaded it into a black Dodge Magnum and left the scene.

The vehicle is distinctive because the rim on each tire is a different colour, Hennelly said.

“The front driver’s side rim is yellow, the rear driver’s side rim is orange while the front passenger’s side rim is red and the rear passenger’s side rim is blue,” she said.

The suspect is described as caucasian, with an average build. He was wearing a blue coat, red hat, black sweat pants and black shoes with red laces.
