Cochrane RCMP have charged a 49-year-old woman with operating a motor vehicle over .08 and impaired driving, following an arrest made July 28. The local detachment received multiple complaints shortly after 7:30 p.m. about an erratic driver heading south along Highway 22 in an older model Dodge pickup.
Officers located the woman and followed her as she headed west along Highway 1A and pulled her over near the Heritage Hills subdivision.
They observed that the woman appeared to be intoxicated, arrested her and brought her back to the Cochrane RCMP detachment where she provided breath samples of .38 and .39.
Corp. Troy Savinkoff with the Cochrane RCMP said in 13 years as an officer he has never seen anyone produce samples that high.
Collision
Charges may be pending following a motor vehicle collision that took place July 23.
Cochrane RCMP received a complaint at 1:54 p.m. of a collision at Springbank Road and Range Road 32 involving a transport truck and an SUV.
The male driver and male passenger from the transport truck were taken to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, after sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
The 15-year-old female passenger in the SUV was taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital complaining of chest pains, where she was treated.
Alcohol was not a factor. It is believed that the transport truck may have failed to stop at a stop sign.
