Airdrie Economic Development and the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce are offering businesses the chance to learn about productivity enhancements to increase their bottom line.
Experts from Productivity Alberta will visit Woodside Golf Course on March 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. for the session.
“We’re very excited about this session,” said Leona Esau, economic development officer with the City. “We saw an opportunity to educate a niche of local businesses. Productivity Alberta is a fantastic resource and they jumped at the chance to work with us on this session.”
The event will start with an address entitled 10 Simple Ways to Improve Performance, during the Chamber’s regular luncheon meeting.
According to a City statement, the session is geared to any business, regardless of industry, size or location.
After the luncheon, a three-hour workshop, Productivity 101 for Retail and Professional Businesses, will teach participants about the tools they need to create a productivity action plan for their business.
“It’s proven that productivity improvements have a direct impact on a business’ bottom line,” said Lori Schmidt, CEO of Productivity Alberta. “Traditionally our training has focused on industrial and construction businesses but the principles can be applied to any operation. Airdrie is being very proactive in requesting this workshop and we’re happy to deliver it.”

The luncheon only is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. The cost of the workshop only is $70, while combining both events will cost $80.
