Tammy Rahn will be the new principal of Chestermere Lake Middle School in Chestermere, beginning Aug. 26.

“As the current assistant principal of Chestermere Lake Middle, Tammy is the perfect candidate for this position,” said Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) Superintendent of Schools Greg Bass.

“She has excelled in her current role and I’m confident she’ll take the reins as the school’s new principal with as much vigour and commitment.”

Rahn has worked as a teacher and assistant principal in the jurisdiction since 1995. She began her journey with RVS by serving as a special education and Grade 6 teacher at Mitford Middle School. In 2002, she accepted a position with Chestermere Lake Middle as a resource teacher, moving into the role of acting assistant principal in 2008 and assistant principal in 2009.

Rahn is a graduate of RVS’ Administrative Leadership Program.

A lifelong learner, she annually attends conferences and professional learning sessions on topics such as assessment, middle level essentials, literacy training and leadership development. A voracious reader, Rahn also has poured through literature to ensure she is competent in integrating 21st Century instructional practices among Chestermere Lake Middle staff.

Rahn holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Leadership.

“On behalf of the board of trustees, I extend my congratulations to Tammy,” said Board Chair Sylvia Eggerer.

“We look forward to her continued leadership at Chestermere Lake Middle School.”
