A new month brings an increase in gas prices for Airdronians and the rest of Alberta as pump prices jumped seven cents to start April.
According to GasBuddy, an application that tracks the price of fuel in the United States and Canada, the average price of fuel at Airdrie gas stations increased seven cents from last weeks average of 154.9 cents per litre, to 161.9 cents per litre. As of Wednesday, April 3, the price of fuel is up 22 cents from last month.
Prices are up across the province, at an average of 157.8 cents per litre, an eight cent increase from last weeks average and a 20 cent increase from the March average of 137.4 cents per litre.
Compared to the rest of the country, Alberta's fuel price ranks third lowest, behind Saskatchewan at 156.2 cents and Manitoba at 142.4 cents per litre. British Columbia has the highest average fuel price at 191.2 cents per litre.
