An Airdrie man has been charged following a firearms investigation by Airdrie RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU).
According to a press release from the detachment, CRU initiated an investigation in August after two firearms registered to an Airdrie male were located in Winnipeg, Man. One of the weapons, according to the release, had been used in a criminal offence.
"CRU executed a search warrant of a residence which resulted in six Criminal Code charges," the release stated
Airdrie resident Ryan Dunlap, 30, has been charged with five counts of failing to report a lost/stolen firearm and one count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.
Dunlap has been released from custody on conditions, according to the release, and will appear in Airdrie Provincial Court Sept. 24.
