Langdon and Strathmore RCMP have issued an update to last week's press release regarding a homicide in Langdon, identifying both the female victim who died and the male suspect who was arrested.

The RCMP update states Scott Demolitor, a 31-year-old resident of Langdon, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Audra Demolitor, a 56-year-old Langdon resident.

"After a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Scott Demolitor was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice on June 20, 2023, in Strathmore," the update states.

Mounties from the two communities responded to a 911 call about an alleged assault at a Langdon residence on May 26, shortly after noon. Once there, they found Audra Demolitor unresponsive.

Audra later succumbed to her injuries while in hospital, according to RCMP. An autopsy was performed at the Chief Medical Examiners office in Calgary on June 8.
