Active COVID-19 case numbers continue to drop locally as Airdrie reported 69 active cases March 14, down from 75 March 12.

The minister said the rapid testing program can allow for students and staff to be tested during the day without disruption to their daily routines. It can take as little as 15 minutes to get the results of a rapid test.

“This is great news and will go a long way in protecting those who are most vulnerable to severe outcomes from this virus."

Airdrie's active COVID-19 cases have dipped slightly in the last few days, and the city is reporting 75 active cases as of March 11 – a decrease of six from March 9. According to numbers updated daily on Airdrie.

"Each time we ease restrictions we increase opportunities for COVID-19 to spread if we do not continue to follow the important preventive measures required for each activity."

Airdrie's active COVID-19 cases have risen by four since March 4, now 81.
