You can still talk to a librarian

Did you know that while the brick and mortar parts of Airdrie Public Library (APL) have been shut down, we are still very much open, just in different ways? You might have noticed that many of our popular programs have a virtual presence.

Did you know that while Airdrie Public Library's (APL) brick and mortar building has been shut down, we are still very much open? You might have noticed that many of our popular programs are available online.

Our programmers are busy creating virtual episodes of programs like Babytime, Bedtime Storytime, Sing Read Rhyme, Toddlertime, Adult Crafting, Full STEAM Ahead and STEM.

All our online e-resources are available 24/7, of course, including many new offerings for APL patrons like the Calgary Herald archive, Romance Book Cloud, Teen Book Cloud and Tumble Math.

All our e-resources are available courtesy of the hard-working staff at Marigold Library Systems who negotiate on behalf of all the libraries they represent for these free-with-your-library-card services.

You also might not realize you can still contact a librarian for help with your homework, your research project and any questions you may have about the APL’s online services.

APL staff won’t be able to answer questions about when the building will reopen, as that falls within the discretion of the Alberta government. However, they will be able to help with all sorts of reference questions.

You can chat with a librarian either through our chat window on the airdriepubliclibrary.ca or by emailing [email protected].

We’ll try to help you as much as we are able but please check our website for chat times.

Although the library facility remains closed, we have taken the first step in phased re-opening by scheduling pick-up times for patrons that had items on our holds shelves before we closed. If we have a library item that was being held for you, we will give you a call to arrange a pickup.

We are not yet ready to accept returns, so please keep your library material a little while longer.
