Venue Church cuts ribbon on new home

Venue Church purchases new facility

Venue Church has a new venue to call home.

Church staff and members of the congregation cut the ribbon on a new, larger facility on Jan. 26. The church’s new home is located at 31612920 Kingsview Boulevard, in east Airdrie.

Pastor Corey Kope said it was exciting to move into the spot in early January, around the same time Venue Church celebrated its five-year anniversary of operating in Airdrie.

“It’s been great,” Kope said. “As the church just kept growing, you learn you need your own space.

Prior to the move, Kope said Venue Church was renting and holding Sunday services out of the Footprints Elementary School and Magic Mountain Day Care, just next door to the organization's new venue.

Before that, sermons were held at the Bert Church LIVE Theatre for a little over two years.

According to Kope, the new 10,000-square-foot facility boasts an auditorium and an LED wall with lighting and sound equipment. The technology will be a boon for the church’s digital broadcasts of their multimedia sermons, which often include music and lighting.

He added the extra room will allow the church to offer spaces for Venue Church's support groups and kids’ programming.

“It’s kind of the perfect space for our church right now,” he said.

Kope said there are a few things that set Venue Church apart, such as the church’s acceptance of both those who have attended church for many years, and those who are total newcomers to religion.

“We built a church that seems to work very well for people who have been going to church for 20 years, but also the person who is in off the street for the first time, who doesn’t know the lingo, who has a lot of questions,” he said. “I’d say we have a very high-fun and energetic atmosphere.”
