George McDougall High School's annual Ride of the Mustang Charity Concert was a success on March 30, raising more than $2,500 for Kids Cancer Care.
"This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to shine following band festival and allow friends and family to share in their musical passions, while at the same time allowing our program to raise an amazing amount of funds for Kids Cancer Care," said Jordan Harris, the teacher for George McDougall High's band program.
"We’re proud to say that through your generosity, and Mr. Harris’s very humble contribution of greying hair, we were able to raise a record $2,547.52. We are thankful for each and every cent donated.
"In a world where every dollar brings us closer to a cure, we’re proud to have you as part of this journey. Thank you and thank you for your continued support of our students and program. We could not be who we are without you!
The yearly Ride of the Mustang Charity Concert is held each spring in the lead-up to the local high school's bike-a-thon of the same name – a three-day stationary biking marathon that students partake in to raise money for cancer-focused charities. The long-standing tradition has raised over $1 million over the years.
