The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign, which ran from Sept. 19 to 25, raised $49,418.55 for the Airdrie Health Foundation - a local charitable foundation advocating for better healthcare in the community.

The anual campaign offers customers $1 smile cookies with 100 per cent of proceeds being donated to local charities. According to Michelle Bates, executive director of the Airdrie Health Foundation, last year's campaign was the first year the non-profit organization was the sole recipient of the smile cookie funds in Airdrie.

“Last year was the first year that the funds raised from the local Tim Hortons…stayed in Airdrie and the Airdrie Health Foundation was the beneficiary and again this year,” she said. “We raised just over $40,000 last year with all funds coming back to Airdrie.”

This year, four of Airdrie's Tim Hortons locations were in the top ten in Calgary and the surrounding area for funds raised through the Smile Cookie campaign.
