Airdrie motorists have the opportunity to receive a free safety check for their vehicles on Saturday, courtesy of a City-run event called 'Traffic Safety Amnesty Day.'
Residents are encouraged to stop in from 1 to 4 p.m. and have their vehicles checked at the Airdrie Town and Country Centre parking lot.
"Our officers are offering complementary vehicle safety checks to anyone that stops by," stated a City of Airdrie press release on Friday, adding the officers want to emphasize education and awareness rather than enforcement.
"There won’t be any tickets for safety deficiencies discovered during vehicle inspections. Instead, the primary focus is to educate and inform the public about vehicle safety. It’s important to remember that traffic safety is everyone’s responsibility."
