Fire incident safely controlled at Airdrie manufacturing facility on East Lake Road

The Fire Prevention Bureau is now investigating the cause of the fire. The extent of the damages will be assessed by AFD.

On Saturday, Aug. 5, a fire incident took place at a manufacturing facility located on East Lake Road in Airdrie.

According to a City press release issued on Tuesday, the Airdrie Fire Department (AFD) responded to the fire at 6:31 p.m. and discovered that the building was engulfed in thick smoke.

All employees were evacuated without any injuries, thanks to the quick response. Firefighters teamed up with the building's sprinkler system to control the flames, and they managed to extinguish the fire shortly after their arrival. Firefighters also checked the roof for any damage.

A total of 20 firefighters from AFD, along with support from Rocky View County Fire Services, worked together to handle the situation.
