Colombian-born singer, Cristian De La Luna, is set to captivate the hearts of Bragg Creek residents with an electrifying performance on Sept.10.

The Latin-pop concert will take place at the Bragg Creek Community Centre, beginning at 7 p.m.

De La Luna's artistic finesse lies in his remarkable ability to seamlessly fuse Latin-pop melodies with the intricate nuances of folk and jazz. His most recent album, "Que Pasará" (What Will Happen), showcases his distinctive blend of music as a trailblazing artist who constantly pushes the boundaries of genre limitations.

The constant recognition that adorns De La Luna's career is a testament to his musical prowess. He has earned multiple nominations, including the Western Canadian Music Awards in 2013 as part of his group La Luna de Santiago, the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2020 for Emerging Artist, and the prestigious Latin Recording of the Year award at the 2018 Edmonton Music Awards.

Throughout his formative years, De La Luna drew inspiration from a diverse array of Latin artists, including Juanes, Mana, and Diego Torres. His artistic journey has been marked by an unwavering dedication to staying true to his Colombian roots while seamlessly infusing elements of blues, jazz, and rock into his creations.

"I try to be coherent with my Colombian roots. As a Latino who left Colombia and created a new life here in Canada," said De La Luna. "My music represents that mix between my roots with blues, jazz, and rock."

Excitement bubbles within De La Luna as he anticipates his debut performance in Bragg Creek.

"It’s my first time performing in Bragg Creek, so I’m very excited to get to know the community and share my music with them," he said.

The upcoming concert promises a night of melodies that resonate with the soul and provides an opportunity for De La Luna to share fragments of his remarkable journey as a singer in Alberta.

While the event will undoubtedly be a celebration of music, it also offers De La Luna a platform to display his narrative as an artist.

"I’m looking forward to sharing the joy that comes with my concerts, my story and what brought me here but at the same time making the audience dance a bit," he shared.

This dual purpose underscores his commitment to entertaining and connecting with his audience on a personal level.

Having embarked on his Canadian adventure at the early age of 17, De La Luna's musical voyage has been intricately intertwined with the threads of his Colombian heritage. Away from the lush landscapes of Colombia, his memories and experiences have become the bedrock of his creative expression. His music resonates sentiments of new beginnings, of seeking one's identity in unfamiliar surroundings.

Beyond this, De La Luna carries a profound message of diversity and inclusion wherever he goes. As he planted his roots in Alberta, his music adapted to the evolving landscapes around him, mirroring the very spirit of his journey.

With Bragg Creek awaiting his arrival, the stage is set for an unforgettable evening that promises to imprint De La Luna's name in the hearts of all attendees.

“I would like to invite everyone to discover my music through all the streaming platforms available,” said De La Luna.
