In light of the impacts of COVID-19, Rocky View County (RVC) has extended the deadline for property owners to review their assessment notices to April 16.

"The 60-day review period was extended...to acknowledge the service impacts of closing County Hall," said Bart Goemans, manager of Marketing and Communications. "While property owners are unable to visit County Hall in person, assessors are still available by phone and email to discuss questions and concerns related to a property's 202 assessed value."

Assessment notices were mailed in January, Goemans said. The property value listed on the notice is used to calculate the owner's property taxes in May, which is why its important to review and address any concerns before the deadline.

"Questions are often satisfactorily resolved by talking with an assessor," Goemans said. "If, after discussing with an assessor, a property owner believes their notice is incorrect, a complaint may be filed with the Assessment Review Board."
