New ideas required to move Alberta forward

Following one of the least productive sittings of the Legislature in recent memory, I firmly believe the time has come for some new ideas to move Alberta forward.

Following one of the least productive sittings of the Legislature in recent memory, I firmly believe the time has come for some new ideas to move Alberta forward.

For me, the best ideas come from listening to my friends and neighbours here in our riding; taking the time to carefully consider their concerns. So let’s talk.

Throughout this summer, my colleagues in the Official Opposition will be releasing a series of new policy initiatives we plan to implement if elected in 2016. We are taking these next few months to present these fresh new ideas with you, to start a real conversation on how best to move Alberta Forward.

For example, on June 6, we unveiled several initiatives to help our rural communities succeed. These include new legislation to entrench property rights in law, and provide more clarity to farmers and ranchers regarding their access to water.

In addition, we will design and implement a water-use strategy that ensures adequate supplies for water for food production, while enabling our rural communities to develop and grow as they see fit. To learn more about these and other ideas, go to www.wildrose.ca/buildingcommunities

I want you to tell me exactly what you think about these ideas, and I am eager to listen.

This summer is a critical time for political renewal in Alberta. Once again the PC government finds itself without a leader. Another crop of candidates is hitting the road, seeking to gather support. Yet, trapped within the rigidity of an exhausted party, none of them seem capable of discussing, let alone instituting, the new ideas required to move Alberta forward.

It has been said that, “You’ll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea.” Simply put, this government is stuck in the mud and holding Alberta back with worn out, boring talking points.

There is one leader who is promising to change all that: The leader of the Official Opposition, Danielle Smith.

“It’s an exciting time in Alberta,” she said “

The days of PC cronyism, waste, and entitlement are finally coming to a close and Albertans are embracing the positive and meaningful change Wildrose offers.”

This summer, I look forward to discussing these new ideas with you, and listening to what you have to say. Unscripted. No talking points. Smith has promised it, and I’m here to deliver.

Change is coming.
