MyAirdrie brings City Hall to citizens and businesses

Each year, Council sets priorities to guide the business of the City. One of the priorities identified last year was to provide focused customer service, meeting our customer’s needs – your needs – in the most effective ways possible.

Each year, Council sets priorities to guide the business of the City. One of the priorities identified last year was to provide focused customer service, meeting our customer’s needs – your needs – in the most effective ways possible.

A very specific goal identified was the need to increase web-based options to enable our citizens and businesses to conduct their business needs with the City online.

We want to save you the time and expense of visiting City Hall or the Municipal Enforcement building for in-person transactions.

Numerous City departments worked together on an online services project for more than a year, collaborating with internal resources and external vendors to ensure the solution would be simple to use and meet rigorous security standards.

We launched this service, MyAirdrie, on Dec. 1, 2014.

MyAirdrie is a new feature on airdrie.ca that allows residents and business owners to set up and manage a number of City services from one place. Now you can pay for utilities, renew Fido’s dog license or request a replacement tag, renew a business licence or update your business information. You can also view your current tax notice, review tax statements, review current assessment notice and reports, and for law firms to request and pay for tax certificates. Finally, you can now pay for bylaw fines online as well through MyAirdrie or from our Bylaw page on airdrie.ca. The benefit is that our doors are now open 24/7 online for you to manage these City services at your convenience.

MyAirdrie replaces our previous utilities e-billing service, and all 3,602 accounts have been moved over to the MyAirdrie system.

In our first week, a further 429 residents and businesses have signed up to utilise the MyAirdrie service, and we hope to see many more sign up as we continue to add services.

This year, we have plans to add additional services, including business license applications, dog license applications and even building permit applications.

Please take a moment out of your day to check out MyAirdrie at airdrie.ca and be sure to let us know what you think of this new service.
