Dear editor,

Every weekday afternoon between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., there is a parade of sorts on Highway 564 (Country Hills Boulevard) on the bridge where it goes over Highway 201 (Stoney Trail).

It's a parade of ignorant, irresponsible and dangerous drivers who, in time I am sure will be the cause of a major traffic incident.

As they exit from northbound Stoney to turn onto westbound Country Hills Boulevard, they notice many of their neighbours doing the same. Sometimes the line up can cause people to wait 10 minutes. In their ignorant haste, they take the eastbound off ramp and pull a U-Turn at the merge point. This happens every day. I have seen drivers of all ages pulling this stupid stunt and ignoring the two most important facts.

The first is that their ignorant and dangerous behaviour is the actual cause of the slowdown on the exit ramp.

The second is that their blind impatience causes those who are actually travelling east on 564 to suddenly brake to avoid a t-bone collision.

Calgary Police Service, the RCMP, Rocky View County, and the provincial transportation ministry have been advised repeatedly of this issue. But not one of these departments has had the courtesy to respond. Will it take a life-changing (or worse, life-ending) accident to finally get someone to do something about this?

Oh, and don't get me started on the idiots who use the old farm accesses as short cuts off of 84th street onto Highway 564 at that same location.
