Jennifer Jones wins tiebreaker to reach playoffs at Champions Cup

SASKATOON — A tiebreaker is still needed at the Champions Cup.

Jennifer Jones and Russian Alina Kovaleva grabbed two of the final three spots in the quarterfinals with tiebreaker victories on Friday night.

Team Flaxey will battle Chelsea Carey Saturday morning in a third tiebreaker draw for the final spot in the eight-team playoff.

Jones will face Rachel Homan, while Kovaleva set up a meeting with Kerri Einarson in the quarterfinals. Silvana Tirinzona will play Robin Silvernagle in the other quarter while Team Hasselborg awaits the winner between Flaxey and Carey.

Playoffs start Saturday with the finals on Sunday.
