Another Airdrie company wants to get the word out about the importance of men’s health this Movember.
McKee Homes Ltd. has put together a group of about 13 men called the “McKee Homes Fellas” to raise funds and awareness, and grow some whiskers beneath their noses, for Movember.
“This would be the first time we've officially done it, like as a group,” explained Clint Ziemer, sales and marketing coordinator for McKee Homes Ltd. “I know there are some guys that have done it prior years just on their own kind of thing, but this is the first year we've done a group effort.”
Ziemer said by working as a team they hope to encourage and support each other in their collective moustache-growing efforts.
“We've started to get more involved in more team building events (as a company),” said Ziemer. “So it kind of fits along with that. And McKee Homes is always being super good about supporting the community.
“So this kind of just goes along with our values and kind of our company as a whole.”
At the end of the day though, said Ziemer, it all comes down to trying to do their part to raise money for male cancer and men’s health.
“Cancer affects us all, and I think it's just a big part of us trying to give back and trying to raise some funds just to help everybody with this battle that, I mean, most people in their lives have faced some form of cancer or someone that they know has some kind of cancer,” he said. “So I think it's just us trying to give back and help out the best way we can try to raise some funds for the Cancer Society.”
