The Airdrie Thunder attempted another valiant comeback in game two of its series against the Three Hills Thrashers, but it wasn’t enough as the Jr. B hockey team dropped a 5-4 decision in overtime, Feb. 24 at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

Airdrie gave up four power play goals, including the game-winner 4:05 into the extra frame, and will now face elimination in game three Feb. 25 at 8:30 p.m. in Three Hills.

Kristian Petit had two goals and two assists for the Thunder, who fell behind 4-1 in the second period before making another comeback, similar to game one, to tie the game in the third. Alex Diduch and Travis Wallan had Airdrie’s other two goals, while Logan Marlow replaced Jeff Gardner in net.

Thunder top scorer Andrew Bergmann was out of the lineup with a lower body injury and his return to the series is doubtful.

If Airdrie wins tonight, it will host game four Sunday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
