Nicole Cebak and Mikaelyn Sych, both 14, will be on the Zone 2 girls’ volleyball team for the bi-annual event between Feb. 9 and 12. The duo played for the George McDougall High School team last fall and currently plays for the Southern Alberta Volleyball Club (SAVC) Shock.

Cebak, who will act as team captain, has been playing club volleyball for four years, while Sych has been playing for the past two years.

“Our goal for the Winter Games is to try our best and see how far that takes us,” said Cebak.

“We wish all athletes to have wonderful, successful, and peaceful Winter Games,” said Sych.

“Mikaelyn is very hard-working player, full of energy and encouragements, and hungry to learn the sport,” said Iveta Cebak, coach with the SAVC Spice, the team Sych played for last season.

“I still remember her surprise and happy face when I asked her to join my team.”
