The Airdrie CFR Chemicals Bisons suffered a heavy loss in their opening match-up of the 2023 Circle K Classic U18 AAA hockey tournament on Dec. 27.
The Bisons lost 8-1 to South Kent Hockey Academy, an invited private-school team from Connecticut, at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation. After conceding eight straight goals, Airdrie's only tally came late in the game from Haruki Morikawa.
Airdrie's next game will be today at 10:30 a.m. at the Max Bell Centre off of Deerfoot Trail, against the Regina Pat Canadians. Their third game will be Thursday evening against B.C.'s Yale Hockey Academy at 6:30 p.m. at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex.
