GALLERY: Airdrie Thunder shut out Mountainview Colts to regain series lead

The Thunder earned a 3-0 shutout victory at the Ron Ebbesen Arena on Tuesday night, in front of a few hundred fans, to lead the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) series 3-2.

It's all to play for tonight for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder, after the junior B hockey team regained the advantage in their best-of-seven playoff series with the Mountainview Colts.

The Thunder earned a 3-0 shutout victory at the Ron Ebbesen Arena on Tuesday night, in front of a few hundred fans, to lead the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) series 3-2.

Airdrie scoring leader Joey Haden broke the deadlock late in the first period with a power play goal – his third tally of the 2023 playoffs.

After a scoreless second period, Zach Couling and Tyler Broesky secured the Thunder's shutout victory with a pair of empty-netters in the final minutes of the third stanza.

Airdrie out-shot Mountainview 41-26. Goaltender Josh Feddema kept the shutout for the Thunder with 26 saves.

The two teams meet again in Didsbury this evening at 7:45 p.m. If the Thunder win, they'll advance to the HJHL's north division finals. If the Colts win, they'll force a game seven, which will be held in Airdrie on Friday evening (March 3) at 8 p.m.
