Century Downs Racetrack and Casino in East Balzac is currently hosting the World Professional Chuckwagon Association's inaugural championship finals.
The finals caps off the WPCA's 2019 Pro Tour, which included stops in towns and cities throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Only the top drivers from the tour's first 10 steps qualified for the finals.
The competition kicked off Aug. 21 and races will wrap up on Showdown Sunday, Aug. 25.
Along with the daily races, the event includes two nights of live music Aug. 23 and 24, as well as trick-horseback-riding performances from the likes of 12-year-old Bella Da Costa and 14-year-old Payton Bensmiller.
