Four youth have been arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 after a watchful resident witnessed them spray painting obscene graffiti on the back of the Home Depot store on March 11, according to a release issued by Airdrie RCMP on March 12.

All four, who cannot be identified because of their ages, were charged and released to the custody of their guardians. The incident happened at approximately 8 p.m. at the store on Main Street South.

The release said police encourage residents to call them when they witness something suspicious or illegal.

Help sought

RCMP is hoping someone will recognize a woman in a surveillance photo from the Real Canadian Liquor Store who is wanted for stealing three bottle of liquor and attempting to steal three more, according to a release issued on March 12.

The woman initially entered the store at 5 p.m. on Feb. 13, took three bottles off the shelves and left. She returned at 7 p.m. and once again selected three bottles and attempted to leave the store, but was spotted by a staff member. She left the bottles of liquor behind as she left the store.

According to the release, staff noticed the earlier theft and checked their surveillance video footage and determined the same woman was involved in both incidences.

The RCMP release describes her as being in her 50s with blonde, curly, shoulder-length hair and a thin build. She was wearing a brown hat, green jacket and had a pair of sunglasses on top of the hat.

Airdrie RCMP Media Liaison Constable Jason Curtis could not be reached for comment by press time.
