Three people were taken to hospital with undetermined injures after a three-vehicle accident in the northbound lanes of Highway 2 just south of Airdrie, April 26 at 4:34 p.m.
A 2007 Pontiac Wave lost control and struck and then careened off of a silver Chrysler Town and Country. The Wave then struck a Chrysler minivan, which was also travelling northbound.
Northbound Highway 2 was reduced to one lane of travel for about an hour while members of Airdrie’s Integrated Traffic Unit investigated the scene.
“There were a total of nine occupants between the three vehicles involved, three of whom were transported to Calgary area hospitals with undetermined injuries,” said Sheriff Jason Graw, with the Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit.
“Alcohol, speed, weather and road conditions are not believed to have been factors at this time.”
Two Airdrie residents, including the female driver of the Pontiac Wave, 17, and a male passenger, also 17, along with a female passenger from the minivan, a 19-year-old from Red Deer, were taken to hospital.
