A 36-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman are facing multiple charges after more than 600 pieces of stolen stolen property were found in a vehicle in which they were riding after it was involved in a two-vehicle collision on Range Road 13 and Big Hill Springs Road in Airdrie on May 29.

According to Airdrie RCMP Media Liaison Constable Jennifer Weedmark, officers were called to the scene of the collision at approximately 5:30 p.m. While assisting the four occupants of one of the vehicles, officers found that the car, a Honda CRV, was stolen. The license plate on the vehicle was also stolen.

A search of the vehicle revealed three additional stolen license plates and the stolen property, which includes jewelry, jewelry boxes, tools and electronics.

According to Weedmark, investigators believe the stolen property is linked to a series of break and enters in the Airdrie, Beiseker, Olds, Strathmore and Calgary areas.

The identities of the suspects are not being released because the charges have not yet been sworn in front of a judge.

RCMP is asking anyone who believes they have been a victim in one of these break and enters to contact Constable Echelle Malone of the Airdrie RCMP General Investigation Section at 403-945-7230.

Three occupants of the SUV, including the two accused, were transported to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.

“Four people were involved (in the collision), however, one was uninjured and three were transported to hospital. They were all luckily in stable, non life-threatening condition with just some minor traumatic-type injuries,” said EMS Spokesperson Adam Loria.

“One was a male in his 30s, one was a female in her 40s and one was a female in her late teens.”

If you have any information on any crime, call the Airdrie RCMP detachment at (403) 945-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
