Liquor store held up by armed robber

Airdrie RCMP is asking for the public's help to locate a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Liquor Depot on Main Street Dec. 24.

According to Airdrie RCMP Media Liaison Constable Meagan Fillion, the man entered the store at approximately 5:45 p.m., took an undisclosed amount of alcohol from the shelf and threatened the clerk with a weapon before leaving. The clerk received non life-threatening injuries and was treated on scene.

RCMP describes the man as approximately 5'8” tall with a slim build and approximately 20 years old. He has dark hair and a dark complexion and was wearing a black hooded jacket, black skinny jeans and black shoes with white soles.

The Petro-Canada gas station on Edmonton Trail was victimized by a man driving a red Dodge Ram diesel truck Dec. 18, who filled his vehicle and fled before paying.

According to Fillion, the value of the stolen fuel was $98.71. Video surveillance footage was collected and provided to RCMP. On the footage, the vehicle's license plate is partially obscured by a ladder mounted on the truck between the roof and the tailgate. The man is wearing dark clothing.
