Dear editor,

On Oct. 13 at 3 a.m., Raymond and Vickie Renaud’s home went up in flames.

Ray, Vicky and their 13-year-old son Logan barely escaped with their lives for which they are thankful. Their entire home and all their possessions were destroyed; fortunately their home was insured.

The Airdrie & District Victim Services were on the scene supporting this family. These volunteers gave so generously of their time as did the Red Cross. The Red Cross stepped in giving blankets, a hotel room and money for clothing.

The family is overwhelmed with thanks for all those who gave so generously during the worst day of their lives. The family wants to express enormous gratitude to the RCMP, EMTs, Fire Department, Airdrie & District Victim Services and the Red Cross for all their help. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Airdrie Alliance Church is working closely with this family and have set up a trust fund at the Royal Bank on Main Street for donations, which must be made before Nov. 12. If you can help, please make a donation or contact Sherry Monsour at 403-980-4052.

Sherry Monsour, Airdrie
