Empty buses continue to waste taxpayers money

Dear editor, Are there any other Airdronians perplexed with all the empty Airdrie transit buses and ICE buses running around town? In the last two to three months, I have only seen two people riding, but close to 15 to 20 empty buses running around.

Dear editor,

Are there any other Airdronians perplexed with all the empty Airdrie transit buses and ICE buses running around town?

In the last two to three months, I have only seen two people riding, but close to 15 to 20 empty buses running around. Is this really what the majority of Airdrie residents want their tax dollars spent on? Empty buses spewing fumes, adding to road congestion, and wasting our hard-earned tax dollars?

I have written three emails, one to the last City council and two to our new City council, with not so much as a peep in reply. I have also left two messages for Mayor Brown with no return. This is the same Mayor Brown that I saw in attendance at the Wildrose Alliance fundraiser dinner, Nov. 17, clapping and applauding MLA Rob Anderson’s speech about less government spending and more politician accountability to their constituents. Was Nov. 17 just a show, Mayor Brown?

It would appear that this City council is just like every other level of government I have experienced lately (with the exception of MLA Rob Anderson) - elitist - thinking they know what is in our best interest, and completely unaccountable and unconcerned with what their bosses, the citizens of Airdrie, think.

Brace yourself Airdrie, it would appear we are in for three more years of unaccountability, increased spending, waste, unsustainable social programs, social engineering, debt and increased taxes. I can’t wait.

Curtis Gordey, Airdrie
