Councillor shares holiday greeting

Airdrie Letters

Dear Editor,

It’s hard to believe how quickly two years have flown by and that I am now halfway through my term as councillor for Division 9. I have had the pleasure of getting to know many of my residents and I have enjoyed learning about the wants and needs of the community. Rocky View County (RVC) has had a busy year, with many changes in 2019 and more to come in 2020.

It seems we all have such busy lives, so I wanted to remind everyone of a few important events coming up in our area. RVC is working on a complete rewrite of the Land Use Bylaw, please take the time to check out the County website and have a look at all the proposed changes. If you have any concerns or questions, you can email [email protected]

Division 9 had its first open house on the Municipal Development Plan Dec. 11 at Weedon Hall, and the County continues to look for your input. This is stage 2, so please take the time to share your feedback in the form of an online survey at rockyview.ca

I was recently asked if I could give a shout-out on behalf of Dartique Hall. The board is having a members’ drive and is looking for support. It’s a great community and I encourage everyone to join. They have a wonderful new website at dartiquehall.org, so check it out. You can also find them on Facebook.

As we head into 2020, I would like to thank all residents for your support – it has been a pleasure to represent you. I look forward to the next two years.

From my family to yours, I wish all residents of RVC a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year.

Crystal Kissel
Councillor, Div. 9
