Seamus Garagan and the Carstar Okotoks Bisons won the HJHL second round series over the High River Brewing Co. Flyers in four games.

The herd is marching on in the Heritage Junior League playoffs.

The Carstar Okotoks Bisons won their third straight game to eliminate the High River Brewing Co. Flyers in four games in the best-of-five HJHL second round series, clinching the Battle of the Foothills with a 5-1 road triumph in Game 4 on Thursday night.

Brayden Kapty, Adam Kirkpatrick and Easton Dean scored first period goals with Owen McFarlane scoring late in the second frame and adding an empty netter in the third to round out the scoring. Grady Nicholas made 24 saves for his third win in as many games.

Okotoks took Game 3 on home ice on Feb. 27 by a 5-2 count and doubled up High River 4-2 in Game 2. The Flyers took the series opener 4-1 last week.

In the other second round series, the Medicine Hat Cubs swept Coaldale and the Sylvan Lake Wranglers dispatched the Airdrie Thunder. The Rocky Rams lead the Mountainview Colts 2-1 in the other set.

The third round of the playoffs features a new wrinkle with a crossover format in which the top seed Bisons will play the lowest remaining seed, whichever squad comes out of the Rocky and Mountainview series. Sylvan Lake and Medicine Hat clash in the other semifinal.

The Bisons will open the best-of-five HJHL semifinal at home on March 3 at 8 p.m.
