The Airdrie Lioness Club is pleased to announce the 2010 Supplies 4 Success program is underway.

The program provides backpacks full of school supplies to children of less fortunate families and has been in operation for eight years. The Airdrie Lioness Club is thankful for the management, staff and customers of the Airdrie Staples store for making the Supplies 4 Success program possible.

“We would not be able to help so many without the dedication of Airdrie Staples Manager Anne Marie Hutchen and her staff,” said Lioness President Glenda Alexander.

“Customers are asked if they would like to help a child get a better education simply by making a donation to our program. The response has been overwhelming and generosity proves that Staples customers believe that every child needs to start school with a backpack full of necessary supplies. We thank each and every one who has contributed to our ability to fill 200 backpacks this year.”

Airdrie and area families can qualify for backpacks filled with supplies specific to children attending Kindergarten, grades 1 to 4, grades 5 to 8 and grades 9 to 12 on Aug. 23 starting at 1 p.m. by visiting the Community Links north building located at 112 – 1st Ave. in Airdrie. For more information, contact Alexander at 403-828-2552 or stop in at the Community Links after Aug. 23.
