With two-stepping and bull-riding comes pancake breakfasts, and Airdrie will be throwing syrup stacks on the table for anyone looking to rein in the start of the Calgary Stampede with some fun. One of the biggest events coming up is at Davis Chevrolet July 7 in a joint anniversary celebration for the car dealer. A pancake breakfast kicks the day off at 9 a.m., but they’ll also have the official Stampede Stage – with a performance by High Steppin’ Daddy – a show and shine and a charity car wash during the day. “With GMC bringing Stampede Like a Pro kick-off, we thought it would be a great opportunity to do something great for Airdrie,” said Jessica Jacobs, Davis’ social strategist. By noon, music will be playing, the Stampede Food Truck will be serving and anyone looking to test their inner cowboy can try the mechanical bull on site. “We have an anniversary celebration every year – we have for the last six years, but nothing of this size,” Jacobs said. “This is definitely going to be the biggest thing we’ve done.” There will also be a number of other breakfasts for Airdronians to dig into during the weekend. The Kingsview Market is holding a Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. July 6 with free pancakes, a kids play area, a kitten booth and even yoga. King’s Court Church is holding a breakfast July 8 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with live music, and a handful of activities for the kids – including face painting, caricature and balloon art. If anyone needs to get some shopping done, CrossIron Mills mall will be holding a breakfast July 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. Live entertainment, kid’s games and a Marble Slab topping bar will be present to add a little extra to your breakfast.
