Chestermere is on its way to becoming a more active community thanks to Alisa Lomenda. The child development advisor at Rainbow Creek Elementary will begin offering teen boot camp for the girls of Chestmere to help them become fit and have fun.

“There’s nothing really out here for teens to do,” said Lomenda. “I thought this is an awesome program to get them healthy and fit.”

When Lomenda moved to Chestmere three years ago, she realized there was little in terms of fitness happening in the community.

Lomenda has worked in the fitness industry for more than 10 years and participated in Miss Alberta fitness competitions.

Her boot camp will include circuit and weight training, sports and various cardio workouts.

Alongside the bootcamp is Mother Daughter Fitness Fun, a program designed to connect the two while getting in shape.

“I thought this is an awesome program to get them healthy and fit,” said Lomenda. “It’s my mandate to inspire girls.”
