Here’s what’s going on in the Dalroy region:
• Logo contest - We are calling everyone that is interested to let your creativity take over and come up with a logo to represent Dalroy.
Please send in your entry by mail to: Site 27, Box 29, RR 7, Calgary, AB, T2P 2G7. Don’t forget to include your name and phone number.
• Awards night - On Nov. 13 Gymkhana is hosting an awards night for all the participants. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner (pot luck) is at 6:30 p.m. For details, please call Pat Koosey at 403-537-2539.
• Chili Cook Off - We are getting ready for our annual Grey Cup party and chili cook off, to be held Nov. 28. Doors will open half an hour before kickoff. A cash prize will be awarded for the best chili. For more information, contact Diane 403-285-9118.
• Christmas Pot Luck - With the Christmas decorations already out in most stores, it’s giving us the idea to start planning for our Annual Dalroy Christmas Pot Luck, which will be held Dec. 19.
• Dalroy Ladies – Ladies, don’t forget our monthly gathering every third Monday of each month. It is a good way to get to know other ladies in the community and also help organize activities for everyone in the area. If you have any activities ideas, please share them with us.
• Dalroy Men - The men’s meeting is held every second Monday at the Dalroy Hall. For more info please contact Bill Mailman at 403-934-1907.
• Pub Night - Every third Friday of each month there is a Pub Night at the Dalroy Hall. Doors open at 8 p.m. and everyone is welcome to come for a drink. We have pool, darts, foosball, shuffleboard and you are welcome to bring your cards or board games.
• Happy Birthday - Happy belated birthday to our September celebrants. Pat and Adolph Koosey celebrated their wedding anniversary in September. Happy birthday to our October birthday gal and boy Laura Starosta and Ron Carlyon.
• New phone list - Dalroy has a new phone list with all the new families that have moved into the community. Also, we have added all the different businesses owned and operated by our community members.
