The City of Airdrie’s Department of Social Planning has partnered with a free, location-based services network called HelpSeeker to provide residents with another resource to access social and health-related information during the COVID-19 pandemic.

HelpSeeker will allow residents to find the closest, most relevant service for their needs with complete privacy, according to a press release from the City. Organizations listed on HelpSeeker in Airdrie include counseling and support for addictions, abuse and domestic violence.

“In addition to the Community Resource page shared on our website, we want to ensure Airdrie residents have up-to-date information about what social and health supports and services are operating during COVID-19. It is our hope that this online platform will connect residents who are in most need, with the supports and services they are looking for,” said Pauline Clark, team leader, social planning, in a statement.

Mayor Peter Brown added it is critical the City finds innovative ways to connect residents in need.

“My hope is that this option will break down barriers for people who need support during this time,” he said.

According to the City, if residents need social service support, but do not have access to a computer, they can speak with someone directly by contacting North Rocky View Community Links Society at 403-945-3900 or 1-866-945-3905. Agencies or not-for-profit organizations interested in signing up with HelpSeeker may contact the organization directly at [email protected].
