UPDATE: Lockdown at West Edmonton Mall in process of being lifted

"The area in Phase 3 where the shooting occurred is not going to be accessible as police investigate the incident," police said in a release.

EDMONTON - Police say the lockdown at West Edmonton Mall is in the process of being lifted.

At around 9:30 p.m. police confirmed three people were taken to hospital after they sustained serious injuries at a shooting at West Edmonton Mall. The mall went into lockdown before 9 p.m on Monday night. 

"The area in Phase 3 where the shooting occurred is not going to be accessible as police investigate the incident," police said in a release.
