COLD LAKE – Earlier this year, Cold Lake RCMP announced six counts of sexual assault charges against a 67-year-old tattoo artist operating in the city. More charges are being added.

Police had initiated an investigation on May 20 into allegations that Dale Amos, a resident of Cold Lake, had sexually assaulted several of his female clients while tattooing them.

These offences are alleged to have occurred between 2015 and May 24, 2023. As a result, Amos was charged with six counts of sexual assault with a weapon, two counts of sexual assault, and assault with a weapon.

Cold Lake RCMP state that the detachment has since been contacted by other alleged victims who have reported being sexually assaulted in a similar manner by the accused while receiving tattooing services at a local tattoo studio.

RCMP laid additional charges against the 67-year-old on Sept. 12, based on the subsequent investigation.

In total, Amos has been charged with eleven counts of sexual assault against eleven different victims.

Amos will speak to these charges in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on Sept. 13.

Cold Lake RCMP believe there may be other victims out there and are encouraging them to come forward to report.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cold Lake RCMP at (780) 594-3302.
