Poor road conditions near Condor on Friday are believed to have played a factor in the death of a 17 year-old Clearwater County resident.

On the morning of Jan. 5, Rocky Mountain House RCMP received a report of a serious multi-vehicle collision on Highway 11 and Range Road 45 in Clearwater County.

"Upon arrival, investigators located a deceased person inside one of the vehicles," police said in a press release issued Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as a 17-year-old Clearwater County resident, police said.

Three other vehicles were damaged in the incident including a semi truck, with occupants reportedly suffering minimal injuries.

"Although early in the investigation, police believe that the deceased struck an oncoming semi truck. Two other vehicles then struck the semi as it lost control."

Police believe that heavy fog and icy roads were factors in the collision.
