Wendy Cynthia Medley (NEE Popowich) was born November 10th, 1956, in Calgary Alberta. She passed away August 10, 2023 at the age of 66 after an extremely short battle with cancer. Wendy fiercely fought MS for over 25 years, until cancer snuck up and tapped her on the shoulder.
Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Craig Medley, sister and best friend, Denise Popowich (Gillian), children Jill Irving (Ron), Thomas Riske (Lisa), Kayla Medley (Austin), Hannah Rollins (Mike), and Molly Medley (Ryan). Her 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. As well as countless other friends and family members.
Wendy was predeceased by her parents Shirley and Don Popowich.
Wendy was the brightest of lights, and to know her was to love her. She loved and cared so deeply for all her family and friends, both near and far. She was an avid reader and loved to cook, bake, craft, work in her garden, go for walks with her husband and shop till she dropped.
Wendy’s family would like to give messages of thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff and palliative care team at the Peter Lougheed Centre. You all treated our Wendy with such kindness and compassion, and for that we will always be thankful.
A celebration of life will be held on September 10th from 1 pm - 4pm at the Woodside Seniors Club. 411 Woodside Drive NW in Airdrie.
Donations can be made in Wendy’s name to the MS Society of Canada.
