Shirley Ann Dixon (Smith) passed away June 2, at the age of 87, in Didsbury.

Shirley grew up in Bowden then entered Nursing Aide training in Calgary. She met and married John Dixon in Calgary, moved back to Bowden for 10 years, eventually settling the family in Crossfield.

Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Ernie and Nellie, husband John, stepmom Josie, 1 sister, 3 brothers and a dear friend, Kris Knudsen.

She is survived by her 5 children, Ken (Wendy), Ray (Lyn) and Deb Machacek (Terry) of Crossfield, Ron (Pat) of Red Deer, Brenda (Bud Farmer) of Sylvan Lake, sister-in-law Elaine Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. Her legacy will be her 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

 She was a strong and kind woman who gave 100% to family, friends, and strangers in need. Her love and friendship will long be remembered.
