Hundreds of parents, politicians, teachers and school board representatives came to City Hall on June 24 for a forum regarding the school space crisis in Airdrie.

After six months of work by staff and a consulting firm, Irricana’s Land Use Bylaw has been completely rewritten.

Airdrie will receive part of the $800 million the Province recently announced for transit funding in the Calgary area, although it is not known exactly how much.

On June 17, Rocky View Schools approved a $2.5 million infrastructure and maintenance renewal program. Each year, Alberta Education makes funds available for facility maintenance and renewal projects. Rocky View Schools’ 2010/2011 allocation is $2.

A family pet was shot with a pellet gun on a 20-acre acreage southeast of Chestermere in Rocky View County, June 19. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., while the family was enjoying an outdoor birthday celebration.
