Not only is she a top 10 producer with the firm (out of 800 Realtors®), she has won awards for helping other agents grow their businesses. And it’s not just those in the real estate industry that know her. Stephens is very active in the local community supporting charitable organizations and non-profits such as Tails to Tell Animal Rescue, BC & Alberta Guide Dogs, and the Airdrie Lioness Christmas hamper program.
Stephens’ journey started in 2001. She explains, “I met a lovely lady working for a local builder, I became her assistant in 2001 and made the leap into Real Estate as my business took off and people wanted more of my services. I became a full-time Realtor® in 2003.”
“I have the privilege of working for a Canadian Company, plus being the top brokerage in Calgary,” she continues regarding her affiliation with CIR Realty. Founded in 1983, CIR Realty is the largest independent real estate brokerage in Alberta and a member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World. “I have consistently been a top producer with CIR REALTY, and enjoy the training, events and overall experiences with such a great company,” Stephens confirms.
Determined to operate her firm a difference, Stephens notes, “There isn't much I won't do for my clients. I've walked dogs during showings, cleaned up a home for a showing and did some laundry, entertained the kids while my buyers looked at a home, taken a buyer to their lawyer's appointment, cleansed and saged a home, and more.” She also has a large network of trades and other services that she happy to recommend. “I believe it is my genuine care for others and helping whenever I can that sets me apart.”
While Stephens feels proud and humbled to have earned both industry awards and several consecutive Best of Airdrie Readers’ Choice awards, she cherishes the hugs, thank you cards, and referrals from happy clients that have enjoyed her customer-focused service.
“I don’t think people realize how customer-centric Realtors® are,” she reflects. “We are on call 24 hours a day. I’ve been called out day and night to help with things like rescuing a seller who was locked out of their home, and to make arrangements after a home disaster. From floods to fires, it's part of what I do to help and call upon others to help too, when needed.”
Despite what reality television says about the real estate industry, portraying it as a fast-track way to success by dramatically selling beautiful homes to enthusiastic people, the reality is much different. Realtors® invest heavily in their careers and in their clients. The commissions earned are not pure profit, but cover fees such as licensing and expenses such as signage. Stephens says it takes an average of over 20 home sales to begin to make the career viable on an individual level. Those that excel in real estate do so because they love helping clients, and they are willing to work very, very hard at all hours on their clients’ behalf.
“I have passion for what I do – it is about helping people,” smiles Stephens.
So, what is next for the award-winning, top producing Calgary Realtor®?
“I am always up for new adventures in real estate and working with builders as their Preferred Realtor,” Stephens concludes. “I am so excited to meet new people and continue helping the ones I already know.”
