“With a little bit of traction and no stoppages, I think this event will evolve into the “true” finals that it’s meant to be,” Ryneveld said. 

"It's a huge confidence-booster for us," said Kris Kennedy, a member of the Thunder's coaching staff.

Though this wasn’t Errmann’s first time up Prairie Mountain (he'd climbed to the top about 20 times before), he said he was motivated to see if he could still do it at his age.  

“There is goodwill on both sides and a desire to embrace innovative solutions," Kissel said. "We are stronger together, and a collaborative approach to economic development is in both of our best interests.”

Langdon residents will be able to get some face-time with their local government representative later this month. On Jan. 31, Rocky View County Division 7 (Langdon) Coun. Al Schule will be hosting a public open house to answer residents questions.
