Weekend brings frigid temperatures to Rocky View County

Rocky View County is in store for a brutally cold weekend, according to AccuWeather.

"Dangerous cold" is anticiapted overnight, with a low of -24 C and snow accumulating up to three centimetres. Flurries will continue on Sunday with a high of -23 C (-30 C with the wind chill) dropping to -28 C (-32 C with the wind chill) heading into Monday.

Irricana will see a "very cold" Saturday with a high of -17 C (-23 C with the wind chill) and a couple of light flurries. Skies will become cloudier into the evening as the temperature dips to a low of -26 C (-32 C with the wind chill). The thick cloud cover persists on Sunday, with more flurries possible and a high reaching -23 C (-31 C with the wind chill). The sporadic snow and overcast skies will stick around overnight, and the thermostat will fall to a low of -28 C (-32 C with the wind chill).

Cloudy skies and cold temperatures are anticipated in Crossfield on Saturday, with a high of -17 C (-20 C with the wind chill) and potential periods of snow. An overnight low of -26 C (-32 C with the wind chill) means exposed skin risks frostbite in just two minutes, according to AccuWeather. Flurries are possible on Sunday as the thermostat reaches a high of -24 C (-30 C with the wind chill) before dipping to a low of -29 C (-33 C with the wind chill) overnight.

In Springbank, Saturday brings mostly cloudy skies with potential flurries and a high of -16 C (-18 C with the wind chill). Up to two centimetres of snow is predicted overnight as the temperature dips to a low of -25 C (-30 C with the wind chill). Sunday sees more flurries and a high of -23 C (-30 C with the wind chill), dropping to a very cold overnight low of -29 C (-36 C with the wind chill).
