UPDATE: Body identified after human remains discovered west of Chestermere

Chestermere RCMP is investigating after human remains were found outside the city. According to a press release from the detachment, the remains were located on a rural road just west of Chestermere on Jan. 15.

Jan. 19 update: The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating the discovery of human remains northwest of Chestermere, after an adult female's body was located on Range Road 284 north of Chestermere Blvd on Jan. 15.

The female has been identified as 29-year-old Jennifer Ashley Foley from Calgary and area, according to a press release from Alberta RCMP.

"The RCMP is seeking information from the public in hopes that friends and associates will recognize Jennifer in the attached photographs, and will come forward and provide information to assist police in determining Jennifer’s whereabouts in the weeks leading up to her remains being located," the release stated.

Foley was described as staning six feet tall with a slim build, according to the release. She had curly brown/auburn hair and blue eyes.

Police have processed the scene and the remains have been taken to the Medical Examiners office in Calgary," the release stated. "An Autopsy will be conducted on Monday, Jan. 18. 

"At this time, the identity of the deceased is not known. However RCMP believe the victim is a Caucasian female."

The Alberta RCMP K Division Major Crimes division is currently investigating and no further information is being released at this time.
