Thanksgiving brings mixed forecast to Rocky View County

Rocky View County will see varied weather over Thanksgiving weekend, according to AccuWeather.

Cochrane residents can expect double-digit highs on Saturday, sporadic rain on Sunday and moderate temperatures on holiday Monday. According to AccuWeather, Friday's nice weather will continue into Saturday, with the thermometer expected to reach a high of 11 C in Cochrane.

On Sunday, however, AccuWeather forecasts a drop in temperature for Cochrane, with a predicted high of just 8 C and a 43 per cent chance of afternoon showers. Thanksgiving Monday will see temperatures typical for this time of year, with a daytime high of 4 C and a nighttime low of -6 C.

In Indus, AccuWeather calls for "mostly sunny and chilly" weather on Saturday, with an expected high of 8 C, and a 42 per cent chance of precipitation on Sunday. Like Cochrane, the weather in Indus will be typical for this time of year on Monday, when the hamlet experiences a high of 5 C and a low of -4 C overnight.

Beiseker, in the northern part of Rocky View County, should experience a similar forecast. The village is expected to reach a high of 9 C on Saturday, with temperatures dropping to a low of -2 C overnight. Afternoon drizzles and a slight drop in temperature should arrive Sunday. On Thanksgiving Monday, AccuWeather has forecasted Beiseker to experience "chilly" weather with a slight cloud presence. A daytime high of 6 C is expected before the thermostat drops to a low of -4 C overnight.

In the southwest corner of the county, Bragg Creek will expect some of the highest temperatures of the weekend, with a daytime high of 12 C on Saturday. Like the rest of the county, AccuWeather forecasts periods of rain on Sunday, with a 41 per cent chance of precipitation and a high of 7 C. Brief snow showers could potentially arrive in the hamlet on Monday, according to AccuWeather, with clouds, breaks of sun and a 62 per cent chance of precipitation.
